Using Eyegaze Effectively: What you Need to Know

Eyegaze technology allows individuals with significant physical challenges to access communication devices and technology to support daily living tasks. This workshop will discuss the technologies currently available as well as what should be considered when using these sophisticated devices. Prerequisite skills and technology available to support the development of skills will also be discussed.

Executive Functioning Supports in the Classroom and Beyond

Executive functioning defines skills required for everyday life like working memory, flexibility, problem solving, time management and organization. For many of our students, executive functioning skills are often challenging. This workshop will explore a variety of low tech and high tech tools, strategies, and resources to aid in such tasks as reading, writing, taking notes, time management and organization, both in school and at home.

Participants will learn the basics of the highly customizable GoTalk Now AAC app. Some of the features that will be reviewed include designing pages and creating communication books. Other features that will be covered include linking songs from your music playlist, adding video clips, switch capability, and more! Backing up and sharing communication books via WiFi will also be demonstrated. If you are bringing an iPad, please have the latest operating system and install GoTalk NOW or the FREE version before attending.
