Google Sweet: Fun Activities for Learning (Distance Learning, too)! POSTPONED; new date will be announced
Teachers are gearing up for back to school–gathering and creating ideas, planning lessons, and getting their classrooms (and virtual classrooms) ready for learning. Regardless of the subject or grade you teach, creating fun activities using the tools within the Google Suite can help save time and get creative, especially for remote learning. Examples of activities include: writing and creating rebus using emojis in Google Docs, creating drag and drop interactive activities and game-based learning activities in Google Slides, using Google Slides to create choice boards for activities, creating graphic organizers and math activities with Google Drawings, and virtual schedules. Join us so you can create fun activities for students of all abilities!

SOS at Home: Speech/OT Strategies PARENT WORKSHOP! POSTPONED; new date will be announced
Do you need help setting up your child’s virtual workspace at home? Do you need strategies to support distance learning? Did you know that you have therapy tools around the house? Join us for this interactive workshop as we demonstrate using tools you can find around your house to help support your child learn remotely. Activities like modifying games around the house, creating low tech communication boards, modifying pool noodles to create stands and holders, using playdoh for pencil grips and using highlighters and colored markers to adapt paper.

Tips & Tricks for Teaching, Treating and Presenting Online:
Are you looking to step up your skills for online teaching, therapy, or giving workshops? Learn about several strategies that include enhancing your lighting, captioning your content, and ways to use visuals on screen to improve your student or client’s understanding. You may have the basics down. However, after this workshop, you will have several easy to implement strategies to pick from to take it to the next level.
In this workshop, participants will:
- Compare and contrast the most popular virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet)
- Learn how you can set up for virtual and in person teaching simultaneously
- Learn about resources to access and/or create virtual content for online learning such as Edpuzzle, Boom Cards, etc
- Learn how to use Manycam to quickly and easily display visuals digitally to support students
- See examples of digital rewards and incentives to help motivate students
- Learn about how to use Power Point in conjunction with Zoom as a virtual background, allowing you to present like you are in front of your smartboard
- Explore ways to make your content and screen more engaging. These include tools such as camera filters (Snapcam, etc) and using virtual backgrounds
- Discover how to share your iPad/iPhone screen during a virtual teaching session
- Learn about lighting considerations when presenting a virtual teaching session
- Find out the benefits and drawbacks of using multiple computer monitors for virtual teaching
- Explore different ways to incorporate closed captioning
