New Members Wanted for the RI Council on
Assistive Technology (RICAT)
What is RICAT? RICAT is the advisory board to the Rhode Island “AT Act” Project - the Assistive Technology Access Partnership (ATAP). RICAT is a group of caring people - some may have a disability, know someone who has a disability, or just want to help– who are actively involved in initiatives that will increase access to assistive technology for Rhode Islanders. RICAT meets on a quarterly basis, usually the third Thursday of the month from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm at the Office of Rehabilitation Services, 40 Fountain Street, Providence, RI.
If you are interested in participating on the Council, if you need additional information, please call Sharon DiPinto at 421-7005 ext. 318 (voice), 421-7016 (TDD), or Relay Rhode Island at 711. An application is also available on the ATAP website at http://www.atap.state.ri.us/councilapp.htm. Upon receipt of the application packet, an interview will be scheduled for you.
In order to ensure diversity, the Council encourages individuals with disabilities from under-served populations as well as individuals representing all age groups and a range of assistive technology utilization.
