In Our Own Words: Using the Public Library
Helen Barrett is a regular patron at the Lincoln Public Library. She enjoys the library’s audio book collection especially since she lost her sight. She states that she picks out some audio books and takes them over to the library’s Aladdin Rainbow Video Magnifier to view their synopsis before deciding if she wants to take them out. Since Mrs. Barrett has always enjoyed reading, she is especially grateful to have a machine that enables her to continue one of her favorite pastimes.

I love to read and large print has just "filled the bill" to make my reading more pleasurable and comfortable. It is great to find the best sellers in the large print at the same time they are available in regular print. I would also love to see entire works of an author in the comfortable large print!

I love to read. Now that I am getting older and my eyes are changing, I would not be able to continue reading. The large print books are what make it possible for many people with poor vision to continue to enjoy the pleasure of reading.

I am delighted that we are able to provide the large print books service to patrons and libraries throughout the state through the Talking Books Plus program! The Fuller Library has over eighty patrons that receive the large print books home delivered via mail. We often get notes from patrons telling us "thank you for the service", and "your choice of books were excellent...please send more!"
