Judith Hammerlind Carlson, M.S., CCC-SLP
Executive Director
Judi is the co-founder and Executive Director of TechACCESS of RI.  Judi believes that assistive technologies can have a significant impact on children and adults with disabilities and can support achievement and independence in all aspects of life.  She has a Masters Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Rhode Island, holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP, and is registered with the RI Departments of Health and Education. Judi has been in the field for over 31 years specializing in technologies for children and adults who are non-speaking.  Judi has co-designed and taught Rhode Island’s 2 assistive technology graduate courses at the 2 state colleges, and has presented regionally on technology and disability.  She sits on several advisory boards including the Rhode Island Vision and Education Services Program Advisory Board,  to insure that technology has a visible role in programming and policy making.
Judi’s 3 amazing grandchildren live in Melrose MA and she tries to spend as much time as possible with them …she has pictures!

Kelly Charlebois, ATP
Clinical Manager/AT Consultant
Kelly is our Clinical Manager who supervises the Clinical Staff and manages our Fee for Service Program. She is a strong advocate who frequently facilitates the process between School Districts and families. Kelly schedules and teaches many of our monthly workshops for educators and families. She coordinates our Access to Success Program for the RI Department of Education, Office of Student, Community and Academic Supports. Kelly specializes in technologies and software for children who learn differently. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from RI College in Communication Disorders and holds certification as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) from RESNA, the national assistive technology organization. She has been with TechACCESS for over 13 years and in the field for over 24 years.
Kelly likes to travel, go antique shopping (or any type of shopping!) and spend time with her family.

Matthew Provost, M.S., CCC-SLP
Augmentative Communication Consultant
Matthew is TechACCESS’s communication specialist. He provides evaluation, training and technical services to children and adults who have difficulty using their own speech to communicate. Matthew coordinates our outreach to neurologically impaired adults (ALS, MS, TBI, and stroke) who are losing their ability to speak and who need to receive services quickly. Matthew also works with educational teams and speech therapists to develop strategies and plans for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder who are moving out of PEC systems. Matthew has a Masters of Science in Communication Disorders from Emerson College and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency as a Speech and Language Pathologist. He is also licensed by the RI Department of Health as a Speech Pathologist. Matthew has taught the Augmentative Communication graduate course at the University of RI. He has frequently presented at the RI Statewide Assistive Technology Conference and continues to provide workshops on augmentative communication topics throughout the state. Matthew has been in the field for 16 years and with TechACCESS for over 4 years.
Matthew is an avid fisherman.

Eve Sadd, M.S. , CCC-SLP
Augmentative Communication Consultant
Eve joined TechACCESS in November, 2011, working as an ACC consultant to both children and adults.  She has 27 years experience as a speech-language pathologist with 24 years specializing in the augmentative/alternative communication field.   She has worked with preschool, school-age, and adult populations, serving people with autism, cerebral palsy, and other multiple/severe disabilities.   Eve has a B.S. from The Ohio State University and an M.S. from University of Rhode Island.  She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed and certified by the state of Rhode Island.  She has presented on AAC topics at RISHA, ASHA, RESNA, and TechACCESS conferences.  She is a past president of the Rhode Island Speech-Language-Hearing Association and served 6 years as the Rhode Island representative to the ASHA Advisory Council.
In her spare time, Eve loves to travel, play the clarinet, tap dance, and be entertained by her eight grandchildren.

Brian Dennis, ATP
AT Consultant
Brian is our access specialist. He provides assistive technology evaluation, training and technical support to children and adults. Brian is a licensed certified occupational therapist assistant (COTA/L) and is one of the several professionals in Rhode Island with certification as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP). Brian specializes in ergonomics and environmental access to increase and/or maintain an individual’s independence at home, in school, on the job and in the community.

Gloria B. Stuart
AT Consultant, Blind / Low Vision Technology Specialist
Gloria is our blind/low vision technology specialist. She provides technology evaluation, training and technical support to children and adults with visual impairment. She runs our monthly public demonstrations of assistive technologies and is the coordinator of our adapted computer lab. Gloria has an Associates Degree from New England Institute of Technology and multiple certifications in both hardware and software applications. Gloria is a user of a variety of technologies and often participates in beta testing new devices and software for developers. Gloria is on the Advisory Board for the RI Vision and Education Services Program. She has been in the field for 18 years, starting off as a volunteer with TechACCESS when we were just beginning.

Hannah Carlson
Program Assistant
Hannah has been working at TechACCESS since 2010. She wears many hats at TechACCESS including serving as receptionist, webmistress for the agency website, ATAP Conference organizer, and record keeper for our equipment loan program.
Hannah enjoys traveling with her husband.
